The Minister-Designate for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has lauded the achievements of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team, revealing that since its inception in December 2024, it has successfully prevented the demolition of 20 government bungalows.
Ablakwa made this disclosure during his vetting by Parliament's Appointments Committee on Friday, January 31, highlighting the importance of the ORAL team in safeguarding public assets from destruction through corruption and dubious dealings.
The North Tongu lawmaker emphasised the role played by ORAL in conjunction with National Security, stating that their swift intervention has helped Ghana avert the loss of vital government properties that were at risk of being unlawfully destroyed.
He further explained that in several instances, bulldozers had already moved in to commence demolition, but timely reports to the ORAL Secretariat led to immediate intervention by National Security, thereby halting the destruction. "President John Dramani Mahama ought to be commended because I can reveal to you today that since ORAL was established, we have saved this country 20 bungalows that were going to be demolished.
