The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Addison, will commence his terminal leave on 3rd February 2025 in preparation for his retirement.  This follows his two successful terms in office, having first been appointed on 3rd April 2017, and reappointed for a second term on 29th March 2021.  His tenure will officially end on 28th March 2025, in accordance with the Bank of Ghana Act, 2002 (Act 612), as amended.

Dr Addison's decision to take his accumulated leave ahead of his official retirement date has been approved by President John Mahama.  This move allows for a smooth transition as the Bank of Ghana prepares for new leadership.
