The Minority in Parliament has voiced strong opposition to the approval of Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah as the Minister-Designate for Lands and Natural Resources.

This opposition stems from Buah's refusal to retract or apologise for comments he made regarding former President Akufo-Addo's final State of the Nation Address on January 3, 2025.

During his vetting, Buah explained that his remarks, which some perceived as harsh or inappropriate, were not intended to offend the former President.

Instead, he asserted that his words were a reflection of the prevailing circumstances at the time. "I have enormous respect for President Akufo-Addo and any president who occupies this highest office of our land," he stated. "The decisions they are confronted with are enormous and grave, and I don't think we take that lightly at all. "My comments were directed at his government, reflecting the views of the Ghanaian people who felt they had gone through significant hardships," he stated.
