Social media activist and lawyer Oliver Barker-Vormawor has apologized to Parliament's Appointments Committee following controversial remarks he made about the vetting of ministerial nominees.

In a Facebook post, Barker-Vormawor alleged that the committee accepted bribes from President John Dramani Mahama's ministerial nominees before their vetting-a claim that sparked widespread debate.

The committee's chairman, Bernard Ahiafor, strongly denied the allegations and directed the Clerk of Parliament to summon Barker-Vormawor to provide evidence.

Appearing before the committee on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, Barker-Vormawor clarified his remarks, stating that his post was not meant to accuse members of taking or demanding bribes.
