The Government of Ghana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with its Official Creditor Committee (OCC), marking a crucial step toward resolving the country's debt challenges and restoring long-term debt sustainability.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, January 29, the Ministry of Finance expressed gratitude to all OCC members, particularly co-chairs China and France, for their commitment to supporting Ghana's economic recovery.
The MoU formalizes the debt treatment agreement with official creditors, providing substantial debt service relief during the International Monetary Fund-supported programme period.
This relief will enable Ghana to redirect financial resources toward strengthening economic growth and stability.
