The Minister-Designate for Works, Housing, and Water Resources, Kenneth Adjei, has assured Parliament of his commitment to completing the Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development (GARID) project, which aims to tackle flooding in Accra.
Speaking during his vetting with the Appointments Committee, Mr.
Adjei noted that he would prioritize the completion of GARID projects, funded by a $200 million loan and an additional $150 million World Bank loan approved by Parliament in May 2024.
The latter loan faced opposition from the minority caucus, citing alleged mismanagement of the initial funds.
