The Royal Oyoko Clan (family) in Worawora, located in the Oti Region, has called on President , the Asantehene , and the Regional House of Chiefs to intervene in the ongoing chieftaincy crisis in the Worawora Traditional Area.
The call was made during a press conference held on January 26, 2025, to address what the clan described as a grave threat to the traditional and cultural integrity of the region.
Obaasima Nana Ama Anowaa Nyarko, Secretary of the Royal Oyoko clan, outlined the series of events that have led to the current tensions, attributing the crises to the illegitimate occupation of the paramount stool by individuals who do not belong to the royal matrilineal lineage.
She emphasized the need for urgent intervention to restore peace and order to the area. "Worawora belongs to the Asantehene, and he alone can determine the rightful occupants of the paramount stools," Nana Anowaa Nyarko stated.
