Asante Kotoko have been rewarded with a place on the Ghana Premier League summit following their impressive form, while Hearts of Oak were held to a goalless draw against Holy Stars as the second round of the Ghana Premier League took flight.

Kotoko's skipper Justice Blay scored the all-important goal from the spot to deliver the win for the home side against a crestfallen Karela United.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak's players swamped goalkeeper Benjamin Asare after his impressive series of saves ensured the Phobians picked a point against Holy Stars, leaving them in sixth place.

In Accra, Legon Cities picked up a rare win, beating title chasing Bibiani GoldStars 1-0, a result which leaves the Golden Boys a point behind Kotoko.
