The Minister of Educa­tion, Mr Haruna Iddrissu, has called for the adop­tion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a key component of the country's education development.

This, according to him would enable the country bridge the learning gaps to build a compet­itive human capital and equally compete on the global market.

Addressing a news conference in Accra last Friday as part of activities to mark the Interna­tional day of Education, he said the evolving nature of technol­ogy required that the country's education delivery was tailored to meet new demands.

The International Day of Education is celebrated annu­ally on January 24 to highlight the importance of education in the global community and this year's was on the theme: 'AI and Education.' The Minister stated that the theme for this year's celebration sought to encourage reflections on the power of education to equip individuals and communi­ties to navigate and understand technological advancement.
