The Upper West Regional branch of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has achieved a drop in recorded cases of road crashes, injuries, and deaths from 123 reported cases in 2023 to 113 cases in 2024, making a change of 20 per cent reduction.
The Regional Director of the Road Safety Authority, Mr.
Mohammed Abdul-Samad, revealed the number of vehicles involved in crashes also decreased from 224 in 2023 to 178 in 2024, a 20.5 per cent reduction.
Speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, he said despite the total reduction, the number of fatal cases increased slightly from 33 in 2023 to 35 in 2024, representing a 6 per cent rise.
