The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, and member of the Appointments Committee, has questioned Interior Minister nominee, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, about his role in officiating the passing-out ceremony of recruits once they complete their training.
Speaking during Muntaka's vetting on Friday, 24th January, Afenyo-Markin confirmed the perceived protocol recruitment into the country's security services, revealing that MPs from both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) secured such recruitment opportunities for the youth in their constituencies.
He specifically noted that from 2017 to 2024, some NDC and NPP MPs secured recruitment protocols for young Ghanaians, giving them the opportunity to join the security services. "As we know, from 2017 all the way to 2024, when elections were being held, some NDC MPs got protocols for recruitment, and some NPP MPs got protocols for recruitment.
Ghanaian youth who got forms had the opportunity.
