President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Ing.

Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko as the acting director general of the National Communications Authority.

The NCA in a statement announcing the appointment, said the appointment is historic as it is the first time an insider has been appointed as the Director General of the Authority.

Prior to his appointment, there were calls by the grassroots of the political party on the government to desist from appointing him.
