Professor Titus Kofi Beyuo has called for dialysis treatment to be made free for all Ghanaians.
The Lambussie MP highlighted the economic and social implications of renal diseases and the need for a comprehensive approach to address them. "Dialysis should be free, and the government must invest in prevention to reduce the number of people reaching end-stage kidney failure," he stated in the interview monitored by MyNewsGH.
Professor Beyuo criticized the previous administration for introducing free dialysis as a "political gimmick," which excluded a significant portion of those in need. "The pilot program focused on a narrow age range, leaving out the majority of patients.
This was unfair and unsustainable," he remarked.
