Professor Titus Kofi Beyuo has advocated for including medical students from underprivileged backgrounds in Ghana's free first-year tertiary education program.

He emphasized the challenges faced by students from low-income families in pursuing medical education in an interview on Joy Prime monitored by MyNewsGH. "I couldn't have become a doctor if I were asked to pay full fees.

I had to sell water to pay for my education. "Many brilliant but less privileged students in Ghana deserve the opportunity to realize their potential," the Member of Parliament for the Lambussie Constituency shared.

Professor Beyuo acknowledged the growing demand for medical education but noted that access remains restricted for many due to financial barriers.
