President Akufo-Addo breaking the ground for the project. President Akufo-Addo has directed the Finance Ministry to release GHC200 million as compensation to communities affected by Phase One of the Jomoro Petroleum Hub Development project. Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony in Nawuli, a Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region, he expressed optimism that the project will address challenges in the energy sector. The Jomoro Petroleum Hub project aims to create a leading integrated petroleum complex, adding value to the upstream and downstream oil and gas value chain in Africa. Upon completion, the 20,000-acre hub will feature refineries, petrochemical plants, storage tanks, and other assets, transforming the petrochemical industry on the continent.
