Julie Essiam has resigned from her position as Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), effective immediately.
Essiam, who was appointed in March 2024 by former President Akufo-Addo, submitted her resignation letter to the president's office on Monday, January 20, 2025.
In her letter, Essiam expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and highlighted the GRA's achievements during her tenure, particularly in exceeding revenue collection targets.
She noted a 4.8% increase over the 2024 fiscal year target and a tax-to-GDP ratio of 17%, exceeding the 16.1% goal.
