A 200-megawatts solar plant is to be constructed at Yapei and Salaga to boost the country's energy generation.

The project, which is expected to be constructed within two years, would come on stream of the national grid to augment the country's power generation.

The Group Executive Chairman of First Sky Group, Mr Eric Seddy Kotortse, disclosed this at the 22nd thanksgiving service of the First Sky Group in Accra on Sunday by saying the project was "intended to make electricity affordable in the near future as reliance on fossil fuel power for power generation globally is unsustainable." "We are grateful this aligns with the vision of the President to establish the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition," Mr Kotortse stated.

The Group Executive Chairman noted that the project would be executed within the next two years.
