Minister-designate for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has said that the Mahama administration will prioritise access, quality and relevance in tertiary education.
To improve access, he said, the government will focus on expanding infrastructure.
Answering during his vetting in Parliament on Monday, January 20, he said "Access, quality and relevance will be our focus in tertiary education." Regarding science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education, the Tamale South lawmaker said "We intend to build a model STEM schools in every region." On the free senior high school, he assured that President John Dramani Mahama would not cancel the programme. "He will rather review it," he said.
Mr Iddrisu also stated that "we will give true meaning to free compulsory and universal education."
