Education Minister-Designate Haruna Iddrisu has clarified that he holds no regrets about being replaced as Minority Leader in 2023, expressing pride in his contributions during his tenure.

In 2023, the NDC reshuffled its parliamentary leadership ahead of the third session of the Eighth Parliament.

In a letter dated January 23, 2023, signed by the party's General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, and addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, Cassiel Ato Forson, MP for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam and Ranking Member of the Finance Committee, was appointed as the new Minority Leader, replacing Haruna Iddrisu, MP for Tamale South.

Other changes included the appointment of Armah Kofi Buah, MP for Ellembelle, as Deputy Minority Leader, succeeding James Klutse Avedzi, MP for Ketu North.
