Seven individuals have reportedly lost their lives after breaching the AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) mine in Obuasi.
The illegal miners were shot by military personnel from Operation Calm Life, who were stationed at the AGA mine.
In a statement, the Ghana Armed Forces explained that their troops fired at the miners in response to an attack on them.
Some miners sustained injuries, while others managed to escape.
