In a deliberate effort to ensure maximum unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ejisu constituency of the Ashanti Region ahead of the 2024 elections, the Chairman of the Ashanti Region Reconciliation Team, Edward Boateng, on Saturday, August 17, 2024, held a crucial meeting with former constituency party executives in Ejisu. The gathering, facilitated by Dr. Kwame Agyeman-Budu, aimed at fostering unity while enhancing effective collaboration among the leadership of the party and members in the region. Internal wrangling in the party deepened in 2022 after their polling station election. Some agitated members of the party in the constituency labelled the process as "unfair." Four-time lawmaker, Mr Aduomi even left the party to contest as independent candidate in the April by-election after the demise of the then incumbent MP, Dr John Ampontuah Kumah.
