President has set up a committee of legal and governance experts to review the 1992 Constitution.
The 8-member constitutional review team, chaired by Prof.
Kwasi Prempeh, is expected to identify and address gaps and challenges in the implementation of the previous constitutional review work conducted by the 2010 Constitution Review Commission and the 2023 Constitution Review Consultative Committee.
Additionally, the team has been tasked by President Mahama to engage key stakeholders to gather their views on proposals for amending the 1992 Constitution and to provide actionable recommendations aimed at strengthening democratic governance in the country.
