The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Joseph Boahen Aidoo has resigned from his post.
In a letter addressed to the President, Mr.
Aidoo noted that his resignation is in line with a communication from President John Dramani Mahama which announced the cessation of all boards of State-Owned Enterprises. "Following the recent communication dated 13th January 2025 regarding the cessation of all boards of State-Owned Enterprises (SOES), I hereby tender my resignation as Chief Executive of the Ghana Cocoa Board, effective 7th January 2025," he said.
Although Jospeh Boahen's appointment has been renewed by former President Akufo-Addo and is set to expire in July 2025, he explained that his decision is to allow for "a smooth transition and enable stakeholders and business partners to establish timely connections with the incoming head of the institution."
