The Electoral Commission (EC) has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of individuals involved in the violent disruptions at its offices during the collation of polling station results for the Ablekuma North Constituency on Friday, January 17.
The Commission described the incidents as unacceptable, citing threats to staff, destruction of property, and the presence of unidentified men in military uniform among the attackers.
The violence occurred after the EC attempted to resume the collation of results on January 17, 2025, in compliance with a High Court order.
