The Member of Parliament of Effiduase-Asokore, Dr. , has faulted former President for his party, the 's defeat in the 2024 general election.
Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa TV, on January 17, 2025, Dr.
Ayew Afriye, who was the Middle Belt Campaign Coordinator of the (NPP) for the 2024 Election, said that Akufo-Addo's actions helped fuel the perceptions that the president and members of his party were rude.
He cited the example of Akufo-Addo telling the people of Kwabre East, who complained about having bad roads, that they can vote for the NPP if they wanted to or not.
