Former UT Bank founder and CEO, Captain Prince Kofi Amoabeng, has refuted claims of misappropriating funds from the bank, labelling the allegations as unfounded and illogical.
Speaking on Joy News' PM Express Business Edition on Thursday, 16 January, he stated that the accusations contradict the principles he upheld during his leadership of the bank. "It started with investigations at EOCO, which took a year plus, probably two years," Kofi Amoabeng recounted.
He revealed that the charges, which he believes are unjust, stem from money allegedly moved from UT Bank to UT Holdings while he was CEO.
However, Amoabeng argued that such transactions would have had proper timelines and accountability mechanisms if they had occurred.
