The United Kingdom branch of the (NPP UK) has denied media reports alleging misappropriation of funds intended to support a strategic communication project for the 2024 general election.
According to the Branch Executive Committee, the recordings in circulation consist of only 30 minutes from a five-hour meeting, which were shared by unknown individuals with the intent of causing disaffection for the branch.
A statement signed by Felix Hamilton, Deputy Secretary of NPP UK, and made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), explained that the chairman had been given the opportunity to account for the funds in a meeting, addressing any doubts about misappropriation.
The chairman was able to account for the funds entrusted to him for the seven-week communication strategy, which targeted middle-class voters in Ghana ahead of the election.
