A 25-year-old mechanic has been jailed 10 years by the Asante Akropong circuit court in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District for attacking and robbing a university student at Abrafo Kokobeng, near Akropong.
Eric Boampong pleaded guilty to the charge of robbery and was convicted on his own plea by the court presided by Mrs Gloria Mensah Bonsu.
Police Detective Inspector Alexander Agbekpornu, prosecuting, told the court that the complainant, Roudy Aboagye Agyemang was a level 400 student of the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), and a resident of Abrafo Kokobeng.
The convict is a resident of Atwima Koforidua.
