Unimpeachable sources within government have indicated that Mahama Ayariga, Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, is highly likely to be named as the new Majority Leader in Ghana's Parliament.

This exclusive information obtained by 3News comes amidst ongoing deliberations within the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the leadership structure of the majority caucus.

The likelihood of Ayariga's appointment follows a decision to re-evaluate earlier choices for parliamentary leadership positions.

Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, who was initially named Majority Leader shortly after the NDC's electoral victory, is reportedly set to assume a different role in government after being nominated for Minister of Finance by President John Dramani Mahama.
