Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, NPP flagbearer The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has emphasised his commitment to grassroots sports development in Ghana. During a policy address earlier this year, Dr. Bawumia introduced the concept of the Ghana School Sports Secretariat, which he envisions as a cornerstone for promoting sports and education at the school level. This initiative has now been officially incorporated into the NPP's Manifesto. Dr Bawumia outlined that, if elected, his government will establish the Ghana School Sports Secretariat as an agency under the Ministry of Sports, working in collaboration with stakeholders like the Ghana Education Service (GES) and various sports federations.
