Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams has called on President John Dramani Mahama to ensure justice prevails by rewarding good deeds and punishing wrongdoing in his administration.
Speaking at the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service organised by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), on Sunday, January 12, 2025, the respected clergyman emphasised the importance of accountability in governance. "Justice means rewarding people for the good done and punishing people for the wrong done," he stated, urging the president to uphold these principles for the benefit of the nation.
The service, held to thank God for the NDC's victory in the 2024 elections, also featured Duncan Williams reflecting on Ghana's potential under President Mahama's leadership. "I look forward to a Ghana under President Mahama where the atmosphere is conducive for prosperity, where Ghanaians will not queue for visas to leave the country," he remarked.
He also advised appointees and government officials to maintain a people-focused approach, cautioning them against transactional relationships. "Don't forget the people who voted for you," he urged, adding that President Mahama and his wife exemplify love and commitment to the nation.
