The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has assured the public that the fuel shortage experienced in the Northern part of the country is being addressed through a multi-pronged approach.

Following reports of fuel shortages in the region, the NPA convened a meeting of the Technical Committee on Energy to discuss the situation.

The committee identified logistical challenges as the root cause of the issue.

To address the shortage, the NPA has implemented the following measures: Increased Supply from Kumasi: Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have been granted special permission to load petrol from the Bulk Energy Storage and Transportation Company (BOST) depot in Kumasi to serve retail outlets in the five regions of the Northern part of the country.
