Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Deputy Majority Leader of Ghana's Parliament, has called on first-time Members of Parliament (MPs) to prioritise the needs of their constituents over partisan interests.
Speaking during an orientation session organised for new MPs on Saturday, January 11, the Ellembelle legislator shared insights drawn from his extensive political career, urging the new entrants to embrace the higher ideals of public service and democracy.
The orientation session is designed to equip new MPs with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in their role.
Armah-Kofi Buah stressed the importance of focusing on the welfare of the Ghanaian people rather than being overly engrossed in political party allegiances. "You must all rise above partisan interest and focus on the greater good of the Ghanaian people," Mr.
