The Chairperson of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) preparatory committee, , has updated the public on the operations of the committee, which was set up by President to gather evidence of monies and properties stolen from the state by public officials.
The update followed a tour of state lands and properties allegedly looted by public officials in the country.
Ablakwa, the Member of for North Tongu, in a post shared on Facebook on Saturday, January 11, 2025, said the tour was to gather evidence and validate claims on looted state properties.
He indicated that at one of the locations the team visited, the Dubois Centre, national security officials had to be called in due to a fight that broke out between officials of the Ministry of Tourism and a company claiming to have acquired the rights to manage the centre. "The locations inspected by Team ORAL include the Dubois Centre, Agric Mechanisation lands, Labadi Beach Hotel's beachfront, La Trade Fair, the demolished Bulgarian Embassy, and the encroached Northern Development Authority land in Cantonments. "At the Dubois Centre, Team ORAL was compelled to invite national security to take over the facility to restore peace and security following heightened tensions between staff of the Ministry of Tourism and a company that claims to have been given a contract by the outgoing government to take charge and run the centre.
