Today, January 10, marks a special day as we celebrate the life and legacy of deceased Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu, a player who undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the beautiful game.
As we remember Atsu on what would have been his 33rd birthday, after the winger was found under a rubble in Turkey in February 2023 following a devastating earthquake, 3Sports take a trip down memory lane to revisit the top five moments of his illustrious career. 1.2015 Africa Cup of Nations Player of the Tournament Atsu's crowning glory for Ghana came in 2015 when he was named the Player of the Tournament at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
His scintillating performances helped Ghana reach the final, where they ultimately lost to the Ivory Coast.
However, Atsu's individual brilliance earned him the the Player of the Tournament award despite being at the loosing side, cementing his status as one of Africa's top talents.
