The Wenchi Magistrate Court, presided over by His Worship Issa Abdul Wahab, has remanded 28-year-old Joseph Adinkra into police custody for two weeks over allegations of stealing an AK-47 service rifle with serial number AE 405323.

Adinkra, a civilian employee of the Ghana Police Service who works as a cleaner at the Wenchi Police Station and resides in Akrobi, a suburb of Wenchi in the Bono Region, was arraigned following the incident.

Detective Inspector John Agyare, the prosecutor, recounted that on January 3, 2025, at around 5:20 a.m., a police officer returned the rifle to the charge office after a night patrol.

The weapon was duly recorded and stored under the counter alongside other firearms.
