The Member of Parliament for Fomena in the Ashanti Region, Andrew Amoako Asiamah, has been elected as the 2nd Deputy Speaker of Ghana's 9th Parliament.

He held the same position in the 8th Parliament.

Mr Asiamah was nominated by the Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annor Dompreh and the Motion was seconded by the Member of Parliament for Tamale South during the early hours of January 7. "With there being no other nomination, I hereby declare Andrew Amoako Asiamah duly elected as the 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament, " Speaker Alban Bagbin stated during the 1st meeting of the 9th Parliament.
