On January 7, 2025, as Ghana's 6th President, under the Fourth Republic, John Dramani Mahama, took the oath of office for his second term, a historic moment unfolded when he proudly displayed the Sword of State- marking the third time he has done so as the leader of the country.

The Sword of State, a symbol of presidential authority, was first held by Osagyefo Dr.

Kwame Nkrumah at the country's first presidential inauguration in 1960.

Today, it continues to serve as a powerful symbol of leadership and unity for Ghana.
