Ghana's political history witnessed a new chapter today, January 7, 2025, as His Excellency John Dramani Mahama was sworn in as the President of the Republic of Ghana.   The historic event, held at the Black Star Square in Accra, attracted a diverse audience, including African heads of state, party supporters, clergy, and notable figures from various spheres of life.The swearing-in ceremony, which was characterized by vibrant cultural displays and military parades, saw dignitaries from across the African continent in attendance.

Among them were the presidents of Nigeria, Botswana, and other African countries, who came to show solidarity with Ghana as it ushered in a new administration.

The ceremony began with the swearing-in of the Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who took the Oath of Allegiance a few minutes before the President.

Both oaths were administered by Ghana's Chief Justice, Her Ladyship Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey, in accordance with the constitutional requirements.
