Bernard Ahiafor and Andrew Asiamah Amoako have been elected as the Deputy Speakers of Ghana's 9th Parliament, marking a significant moment in the country's legislative history.
Ahiafor, representing the Akatsi South constituency, and Asiamah, representing the Fomena constituency, were nominated by their respective parties and received widespread support from both sides of the House.
Their elections reflect a strong consensus and collaboration within Parliament.
During the inaugural session of the 9th Parliament, which took place in Accra on January 7, 2025, Speaker Alban Bagbin officially declared Ahiafor as the First Deputy Speaker and Asiamah as the Second Deputy Speaker.
