The former National Security Minister, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, has refuted allegations made by the Member of for Asokwa, , who linked him to post-election violence in the country.

In a statement dated January 6, 2025, Totobi Quakyi described the claims as false, misguided, and irresponsible. "My attention has been drawn to allegations by the NPP MP for Asokwa, Hon. , that I and another person are responsible for post-election violence in the country," the statement read.

He questioned why a Member of would make such "misguided and irresponsible" statements. "For an Honorable Member of to make such misguided, irresponsible statements is deeply troubling and disappointing," he said.

Totobi Quakyi reaffirmed his commitment to Ghana's peace and stability, pointing to his decades of public service as evidence of his dedication to the country's unity. "As a former Minister for National Security, I have a vested interest in Ghana's peace and stability.
