The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Akwatia, Ernest Kumi, has reaffirmed his belief that he legitimately won the parliamentary election in the constituency and supports his legal team's decision to seek redress at the Supreme Court.

This follows a ruling by the Koforidua High Court upholding an injunction application that bars Kumi from holding himself as the Member of Parliament-elect for Akwatia.

The judgment also restrains the Clerk of Parliament from swearing him in as the MP for the constituency.

Reacting to the court's decision, Ernest Kumi expressed confidence in the legitimacy of his victory, stating, "The ruling is something that is quite sad, but I have a big God.
