A fire outbreak has razed over a hundred and thirty shops at the Kwadaso Wood Market in the Kwadaso municipality of the Ashanti region.
The affected victims are calling for support from the government and other philanthropists after losing millions of cedis in the fire.
The fire caused huge damage to several properties in the wood market on Saturday evening, before the intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service.
Some of the victims say the fire service used more than five hours to fight the fire to prevent it from spreading to the nearby houses. "We don't know the actual cause of the fire outbreak; it came unexpectedly, and all our properties have been razed by the fire," said Amidu Issifu, whose wood stalls were razed.
