Incoming Vice President, Prof. , has called for an investigation into the cause of the Kantamanto fire.
On January 2, 2025, around 1 a.m., parts of the Kantamanto market in Accra were gutted by fire.
Despite efforts by the Ghana Fire Service to contain the blaze and prevent its spread, their efforts proved futile as the fire destroyed several properties worth millions of cedis.
Following the fire, there have been conspiracy theories surrounding its cause.
