Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has expressed scepticism about the National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s campaign promise to implement a 24-hour economy, claiming such a system already exists in certain sectors.
The 24-hour economy initiative, a key promise during the NDC's 2024 campaign, was instrumental in securing their landslide victory in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
Speaking during an Instagram Live session on Thursday, Gyan questioned the policy's originality, suggesting it merely reiterates existing practices. "It already exists.
Police stations, hospitals, and filling stations already operate on a 24-hour basis," Gyan said. "If the government says '24-hour economy,' they should focus on improving it.
