The Namibian Tourism Board's (NTB) efforts to boost tourism in West Africa are facing significant headwinds following allegations of fraud levelled against some of its board members.

A Ghanaian digital marketing and tourism promotion firm, Hype.UP Limited, has filed a formal complaint with the Ghana Police Service and Namibian authorities, accusing members of the NTB of withholding payments for services rendered under contracts signed in 2023.

Hype.UP was contracted to execute promotional campaigns aimed at boosting Namibian tourism, particularly targeting Ghanaian and other African travelers.

Despite fulfilling its contractual obligations, Hype.UP claims it has not received the agreed-upon payments.
