Traders at the Kantamanto Market are urgently calling for support after a devastating fire swept through hundreds of shops in the early hours of Thursday, January 2, 2025.
The fire, which broke out around 1:00 a.m., caused widespread destruction to one of Accra's busiest markets, known for its vibrant trade in second-hand goods and textiles.
Firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the flames under control, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.
However, many traders have been left without their livelihoods, with goods worth thousands of cedis completely destroyed.
