The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta Akyea, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of inciting disorder at collation centres in contested constituencies.

His remarks follow the Supreme Court's December 27 ruling, which overturned a High Court decision that had granted the New Patriotic Party (NPP) an application compelling the Electoral Commission (EC) to conduct a re-collation in nine disputed constituencies.

The EC's re-collation resulted in NPP candidates being declared winners in seven of these constituencies, overturning earlier declarations favouring the NDC.

In response, the NDC petitioned the Supreme Court, arguing that their candidates were denied natural justice, as they were not given a fair hearing by the High Court.
