Stephen Saforo Yirenkyi, the 2024 Order of the Volta - Member Awardee for Spatial Planning and Public Service, has called for stricter penalties against individuals who violate spatial planning rules and regulations in the country.
Dr Yirenkyi, in an interview with Channel One News after receiving his award from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his exceptional contributions to spatial planning and public service, stated that the recurring flooding in Accra is a direct result of people ignoring planning guidelines.
