The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has withheld the results of several candidates who sat for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) due to irregularities.

This decision comes after investigations into reported cases of malpractice during the examination.

At the 37th Meeting of the Ghana Examinations Committee on Wednesday, December 16, 2024, the following actions were approved: 4,108 candidates had their subject results cancelled for bringing unauthorized materials into the examination hall. 483 candidates had their entire results cancelled for possessing mobile phones during the examination. 781 candidates had specific subject results withheld, while the entire results of 209 candidates were withheld for various suspected offences.

Additionally, the subject results of candidates from 319 schools have been withheld over allegations of collusion.
